2. The future of the binyan pu’al

pu’al is the passive conjugation of pi’el. The future of pu’al – as also the binyan pu’al – is little used in colloquial Hebrew. However, you will find forms in the media, eg:

  • McLaren will be sacked, if England loses to Israel:

    • מקלארן יפוטר אם אנגליה תפסיד לישראל  maklaren yefutar im anglia tafsid le-yisra’el

3. The future of the binyan huf’al

huf’al is the passive conjugation of hif’il. The binyan huf’al is little used in spoken Hebrew. However, you will find forms of huf’al in the press and literature, eg (of the hif’il-verb mekim to erect):

  • A museum for Israeli movies will be erected in the west of the city:

    • מוזיאון לסרטים ישראליים יוקם במערב העיר  muze’on le-sratim yisra’eli’im yukam be-ma’arav+ha’ir
